Axcess Internet to participate in World IPv6 Day
SUNNYSIDE, June 1st, 2011 – Global IT solutions provider Axcess Internet® announced today that they will be participating, along with a host of other companies, including Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Akamai, Limelight Networks, and their partners Microsoft and PEER 1 Hosting in the World IPv6 Day.
The goal of the World IPv6 Day Test Flight is to motivate organizations across the industry to prepare their services for IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) when the world exhausts the remaining IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4) addresses. About the need for IPv6
IPv4 has approximately four billion IP addresses (the sequence of numbers assigned to each Internet-connected device).
